“Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are.” Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been known by friends and teammates as always eating whatever I like, whenever I like. However, as I became more involved in track, my attention slowly shifted to also wanting a healthier lifestyle.
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, so I was ecstatic when I finally moved into an apartment last year. Coincidentally, that same year my coaches set up an info session where one of the school’s nutritionists came by and talked about what good nutrition for an athlete was and examples of how it could be done. This session pushed me to set up a one-on-one session with the nutritionist to better now how I could personally eat and be healthier.
For me, and I’m sure for many others, eating healthy has been a hard habit to pick up. I’m still trying to change my eating habits, and to motivate myself I’ve decided to try a new recipe each week, as well as document a few of the healthy meals and snacks I manage to eat. I’ll post a few pictures of what I eat during the week here, just to keep track of it myself and maybe even inspire some of you to eat healthier with me! If something catches your eye and you want a recipe, you can always just leave a comment and let me know!
Stay Active and Healthy!
